The problem we consider here is that of the change of units in physics with the aid of the group theory. We propose a definition of the change of units based on the various group trajectories in existence. The application of this method explains why the gravitational and atomic systems of units remain independent. The mixing of units - as, for example, the interpretation of results in optics through atomic measurements - leads to shifts of the spectral lines in the cosmological scale, and can be the source of anomalous redshifts. The use of the integrable Weylian spaces is natural in this theory: the ~j coefficients of the fundamental linear form which defines such a space appear as the result of the chosen invariance group. The choice of the Lagrangian appears as a choice of units, and enables us to understand how a given constant, which is universal in a given system of units, can become a function of time, for instance, in another system
