Various cosmological models are presented to explain the composition, structure, and past and future development of the universe. Examined are the steady-state and big-bang theories, with attention given to the latter in the framework of expanding galaxies in non-Euclidian space. Tests provided by optical and radio astronomy, spectral analysis, and mathematical models are described in terms of their usefulness in explaining the nature of the cosmos.
