We have recently discovered four new quasars at redshifts greater than 6. We request Keck ESI spectroscopy of the three quasars which do not have high SNR spectroscopy. This spectroscopy will measure the IGM transmission along these lines-of-sight to infer the neutral fraction of hydrogen to be compared with the results of simulations. Most simulations predict a sharp increase in the optical depth and its variance at the tail-end of the reionization epoch. The spectra will cover both the Ly(alpha) and Ly(beta) transitions. We will carry out a range of statistical analyses on the spectra including the dark gap size distribution, the width and height of transmission spikes and the extent of the highly-ionized near-zones that the quasars have ionized.
