Cosmic ray (CR) transport is dominated by interaction with MHD turbulence. Recent advances in MHD turbulence call for revisions in the paradigm of cosmic ray
transport. We discuss the CR diffusion
in the perpendicular and parallel direction in a self-consistent way. We account for the turbulence cutoff arising from both collisional and collisionless damping. We examine how the diffusion of CRs depends on the characteristic of ionized medium, i.e., plasma beta. Different regimes of diffusion are explored. The results are compared with test particle simulations in both incompressible and compressible turbulence. Implications for Galactic cosmic rays, solar flare cosmic rays are discussed.
