THE shape of the spectrum of cosmic ray electrons in the 100 GeV range and beyond can provide information about a variety of problems in cosmic ray astrophysics. The differential energy spectrum between a few GeV and about 100-200 GeV can be reliably represented1 by a single power law with an index of -2.62. We now describe an investigation designed to determine the electron spectrum beyond 200 GeV.
