The flow and intensity dynamics of cosmic rays near the shock front caused by the large-scale perturbations responsible for Forbush decreases are analyzed using an approximation of a force-free flow to describe the solar wind. Boundary conditions for the solar-wind flow velocity are chosen under the assumption of constant density, and two possible magnetic-field configurations are determined. It is shown that the east-west asymmetry of the perturbing field is manifested in the observed system of cosmic-ray fluxes and in their intensity profiles.
