The puzzles connected with the observation of a large antiproton/proton ratio, the measured rising positron/electron ratio, and some other unsolved, important problems led some theorists to conceive of the extragalactic origin of cosmic rays and to postulate the existence of antigalaxies. An attempt is made here to understand the problems involved on the basis of the simple leaky box model with one particular phenomenological model for particle production and some very recent observational features of high-energy collisions that call for theoretical attention. The conclusion is that the agreement is still not satisfactory if one accepts and adheres to the correctness of the previous data.
