The system of Ly-alpha absorption lines in the redshift range of 2.47-3.035 of the quasar Q0420-388 is tested for clustering features. A Weibull distribution fits the observed local distribution quite well, and this is found in simulations to originate mainly from line-blending. In addition evidence for intrinsic structure is obtained: (1) the void at z = 2.575 (Crotts, 1987, further studied by Ostriker et al., 1988) is shown to be a real feature at the 98 percent confidence level, and (2) significant fluctuations on 6 scales are found, indicating structures from 6.2 to 64/h Mpc.
