A correlation analysis of available data does not reveal a statistically significant connection between the solar wind velocity and interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) parameters. There is also no statistically significant correlation between the Bx and Bz components and the By and Bz components. A significant correlation is established only between the Bx and By components in the general case; this correlation characterizes the IMF sector structure and becomes statistically insignificant when the component values are sign-separated.
