Possible types of homogeneities of a random potential field in Cartesian coordinates are examined; the theory developed has application to anomalous magnetic and gravitational fields for limited regions near the earth's surface. Relationships are derived which link the statistical characteristics of the rectangular field components in the correlation and spectral representations. As an example, an analysis is presented of the statistical characteristics of the increment of the geomagnetic-field vector modulus.
