This paper presents preliminary results of the correlated x-ray and optical behavior of Sco X-1 based on two years of data. The optical data was obtained during 20 nights of observing time using the Cerro Tololo InterAmerican Observatory 1 meter Yale telescope. These measurements were obtained simultaneously with data collected by a BATSE Spectroscopy Detector (SD) on the CGRO. The gain of this SD was adjusted to provide measurements in the energy bandpass 8-16 keV. The intent of our study is to quantify the correlated x-ray and optical behavior of Sco X-1 over a variety of time frames. Here we discuss the data sets to be employed in that study. We also discuss the method used to reduce the BATSE SD x-ray data. Some preliminary simultaneous x-ray and optical light curves are presented and their correlated behavior over time frames from tens to a few hundred seconds is briefly discussed. .
