Intensity of the Balmer emission lines of κ Dra, documented by spectral records from the past 100 years, was found to vary with a period of 8406d (23.01yr). Optical brightness and continuum polarimetry seem to vary with the same period. Polarimetric changes are in phase with the emission strength. The brightness of the object attains maximum during the rise of emission. Then it declines to a local minimum which coincides with the maximum strength of the Balmer emission. Possible qualitative interpretation of these facts is briefly outlined
