Scientific paper

The paper reports two possible corotating shocks in the inner heliosphere where the solar wind is composed of low-β plasma. In the region where the solar wind is slightly super-Alfvénic, reverse corotating fast MHD shocks can form at the leading edge of a high-speed stream. These shocks possess a switch-on mechanism for amplification of tangential small-scale fluctuations. The second one is the coronal slow shocks which may be imbedded in large coronal holes at low altitude in the sub-Alfvénic region.
