We report the results of a statistical study of the association between active prominences, observed in microwaves by the Nobeyama Radio Heliograph, and coronal mass ejections, observed in white light by LASCO/SOHO. We found that 6.4 % of the observed CMEs are related to active prominences. This low association is due to the differences between the instruments (ground and space based) and the fact that CMEs are related not only to active prominences but also to flares and filaments. On the other hand, we found that only 24.7% of the active prominences are related to CMEs. We suggest that this low association number is due to the poor determination of the CME source region.
