Observational effects associated with the emergence of some coronal holes (CH) are considered. On the basis of 1D scans with the subsequent retrieval of the radial distribution of radio brightness, it is shown that the radio radius and the limb brightness enhancement decrease when large CHs appear on the limb. For example, the radio radius at a wavelength of 3.16 cm changes from 1.17 to 1.07 solar radius, and the limb brightness enhancement decreases by 55 +/- 5 percent when a CH goes behind the limb. Possible variations of radio emission from a quiescent sun and CH with phase of the solar cycle are discussed.
