Center-to-limb variations of solar coronal emissions are determined from TIMED-SEE vacuum ultraviolet spectra for two different cases. The first case compares the spectra from from a flare originating at the disk center to that of a flare originating at the western limb. SEE observed the two Halloween Storm X17 flares, which originated from the same active region and are roughly the same magnitude. However, one occurred at disk center while the other occurred at the western limb. The second case examines changes in the solar spectrum as a single active region rotates across the disk of the Sun. Because SEE measures the disk-integrated irradiance, only one active region can be visible in order to determine the center-to-limb variations. As a complement to the observations, a theoretical derivation of center-to-limb variations for a simple spherical slab model of the corona is also discussed.
