Cooperative learning strategies can be an effective means to teach astronomy. In both community college and large university settings students work in small groups on structured tasks such as laboratory exercises, problem solving, or discussing astromomy topics. In addition to addressing general methods for implementing cooperative learning, potential difficulties will also be discussed. Sample cooperative exercises will be available.
