We examined convective instability in the prompt-explosion model of SN II during the iron core collapse, rebound and shock propagation stages. We found the appearance of finger-type convection in the inner region of the core, of Schwarzschild convection in the outer region, and of Ledoux convection in the transition region between the sound-velocity point and the neutron-trapping sphere. The interval 0.74-0,91 Msolar proves to be an active region of convective instability.
