The authors have studied a convective instability in the prompt-explosion model for SN II from the collapse, bounce and shock propagating processes of iron core, and found neutron finger convection inside the region of the iron core, Schwarzschild convection outside the iron core, and Ledoux convection in the region between the sound-speed point and the neutrino-trapping sphere. The interval 0.74 - 0.91 Msun corresponds to an active region of convective instability.
