Dimensionless equations are developed to analyze various modes of stellar convection; with truncated expansions applied to the full compression equations taking motion, energy, and continuity into account. Attention is given to the effects of compressibility and density stratification on temperature change measured against different pressure scale heights across a convective layer of thickness.
