In the present paper, stellar convection is examined in the case of a weakly compressible fluid. With allowance for compressibility, there occurs a shift in the nodes and antinodes, the standing waves are no longer sinusoidal, and the shape of convection cells changes. Furthermore, compressibility of the fluid may give rise to an oscillating convection. An expression for steady multistate convection of a weakly compressible fluid is proposed, and the conditions for the onset of steady-state convection are formulated.
