Emission coefficients of shock-tube plasmas were measured as functions of the plasma parameters in the visible spectrum. The plasma state was determined by dual-wavelength interferometry; high accuracy of the xi factors was achieved. The results are compared with theoretical and other experimental data. In particular, the dependence of xi on the plasma state is discussed.
