The near-UV spectrum of Alpha Cygni, as recorded over the wavelength range from 2000 to 3017 A by the V2 spectrometer aboard Copernicus, is studied. The species which may present in the spectrum are reviewed, and determinations are made of those atomic and ionic species that are definitely, probably, or positively present and those that are not present. It is noted that some of the species found to be absent in the near-UV spectrum of Alpha Cygni are observed in other spectral regions where they have intrinsically strong lines from levels of low excitation.
