Our paper reported sulfur contents and isotopic compositions in 90 mantle xenoliths in alkali basalts from Siberia and Mongolia and discussed the implications of the data for the sulfur inventory of the upper mantle, in relation to information on major and trace element contents and radiogenic isotopes available on the same xenoliths. Lorannd's comment only concerns the the sulfur abundances and largely deals with massif peridotites. It has little to do with the content of our original paper, mainly repeating arguments and interpretations from Lorand's previous publications, which appears to be the major purpose of his comment. Some of the data and conclusions from our paper are presented incorrectly, and the quotes from our paper are taken out of context. We recommend, therefore, that readers refer directly to our original publiacation for the relevant information.
