Vega 1 and 2 gamma ray spectroscopy data on the content of natural radioactive elements in Venus rocks are examined. Data are presented on the content of uranium, thorium, and potassium in near surface rocks at the Vega 1 and 2 landing sites. It is hypothesized that the rocks containing these elements probably correspond to terrestrial gabbroids and tholeiitic basalts.
