Published values of the oscillator strengths of spectral lines and of the content of lanthanides in the solar photosphere were corrected, using the lifetimes of excited levels of the first ions of lanthanides obtained presently. Data on the lanthanide content in the solar photosphere were compared with their content in chondrite meteorites. Additional measurements of the lifetimes of four levels of Pr II, five levels of Sm II, and two levels of Gd II were made to obtain the oscillator strengths of spectral lines of the first ions of praseodymium, samarium, and gadolinium.
