Reticon spectroscopy and BVRIc photometry are presented for the eclipsing binary system YY Ceti. It is shown that the system, which has an orbital period of 0.79 day, is composed of a normal main-sequence star of spectral type A8 and an evolved late G-type secondary which completely fills its Roche lobe. The system is expected to evolve into contact within ≡109yr.
