The paper presents a method for constructing a vector model of the regional component of the stationary geomagnetic field on the basis of modulus surveys. Since the sizes of regional anomalies are comparable to the earth's radius, the model formulation must include the sphericity of the earth's surface. The proposed algorithm also takes into account the fact that, over such large areas, the points at which geomagnetic field strength modulus values are measured are distributed nonuniformly not only with respect to latitude and longitude but also at different heights. The accuracy of the proposed method is found to be satisfactory.
