We present the results of surveys in the mm continuum, using AzTEC at
the JCMT, of two Galactic molecular clouds. These two regions have
extreme and contrasting internal and external environments and the data
place constraints on the efficiency with which the clouds are producing
dense, potential star-forming structures.
