Using HST-FOS and Chandra-ACIS archived spectra of 11 quasars, we put constraints on how the far-UV and X-ray spectra may connect in the extreme-UV. We find that for 9 out of the 11 quasars, the interpolation of our UV best fit lies below or near to the observed X-ray flux, and that the soft X-ray excess component does not constitute a extension of the big blue bump.
