The influence of astronomical selection on calculations of the incident flux density of meteor swarms is discussed. Attention is given to such selection effects as: the attraction and motion of a planet; and the orbital encounter conditions between a planet and a meteor swarm. Values are obtained for scaling the structural characteristics of meteor swarms during transformation from one reference system to another.
