Recent simulations by Winter and Curme, using the HyLoop hybrid modeling suite, showed that adding nonthermal particles to the standard nanoflare heating model drastically altered how and where energy was deposited in the loop plasma. In this work we investigate the role of nonthermal particle parameters, such as pitch-angle and spectral index of the energy distribution, in the deposition of energy in coronal loops undergoing nanoflare heating. The observational signatures of heating differences will be shown by synthesizing images from the AIA telescopes onboard SDO in order to directly compare simulated results to new observations. This work is supported by NASA grant NNX09AB18G S01.
