The optical counterpart to IGR J05007-7047 can be found in the OGLE III database as source named LMC130.4 19472. Timing analysis of eight years of monitoring of this system in the I-band reveals a clear period at 30.80 ± 0.03d, together with the beat period associated with the annual sampling cycle. This confirms the period seen in the X-ray band by La Parola et al in ATEL #2594 and the optical counterpart identified by Halpern in ATEL #572.
