Meteoroids: Orbital Elements, Meteoroids: Periods
Scientific paper
An algorithm designed to reveal latent periodicities in distributions of orbital elements of meteoroids is described in detail. The algorithm is employed in studies of distributions over the magnitudes of semi-major axes of meteoroid orbits. These distributions were obtained by several researchers using different methods (photographic, radio echo, and television). It is demonstrated with a high degree of confidence that regular periodic components are present in these distributions. The frequencies and periods of these components are in good agreement with the theory such of Gulak.
