Observations of H-alpha 656.3-nm emissions in the nightglow observed at the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory during 1961 to 1978 are analyzed in an effort to correlate the intensity of such emissions with the time of spacecraft launches. The results suggest that fuel consumption during spacecraft launches can lead to an increase in the amount of hydrogen in the upper atmosphere, especially during the launching of heavy spacecraft and of spacecraft with apogees exceeding 800 km.
