W Serpentis stars are long-period close binary star systems exhibiting rapid-phase mass transfer from a Roche lobe-filling star to another star which is considerably within the limits of its Roche lobe. Accretion disks for three such stars, V356 Sgr, V453 Sco, and W Ser itself, were modeled using a Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) program written by Simpson. SPH allows for the modeling of media that interact non-gravitationally; it is useful in the study of non-ideal gases.
