Computer modeling and analysis of optical systems containing Fresnel lenses is performed for various systems that have been designed for a proposed air shower detector. In particular, the complex faceted structure of Fresnel lenses is modeled, and the image quality is compared to that of models that idealize the Fresnel surface. Stray light analysis is also performed, and effects of vignetting and scattering are quantitatively related to light loss over the entire field of view.
