Substantial evidence shows galaxy evolution is directly influencedby gravitational interactions between galaxies. To further theunderstanding of this process, we have constructed an `automatic galaxycollision' code, which merges a restricted 3-body galaxy interactioncode with a genetic algorithm and a pattern matching routine. Using theinteracting pair NGC 7714/7715 (Arp 284) to test our program, we haveidentified several different methods of interaction, as well asestimates of the uncertainties in the interaction parameters. Theresults of these test runs and the effectiveness of the automatic codeare compared to two previous non-automated interactionmodels.
