A method is proposed, based on earlier methods for calculating complex reflection coefficients, for computing vertical sounding ionograms of a random profile of a real-life stratified ionosphere, taking into account the wave phenomena, absorption, and the magnetic activity of the ionosphere. It is shown that the approach makes it possible to interpret all effects associated with a stratified ionosphere.
