After the new ICRS Hipparcos was published, the IAU recommended its comparison with the rest of catalogues in use. The goal was to obtain as many as possible relationships in order to study their mutual orientations. Of course, most studies were devoted to the comparative study of the old and the new reference frame: FK5 catalogue and the Hipparcos catalogue. The surprise was that different methods provide significant different values of ɛ[z] which implies dramatic discrepancies on the inclinations of the motions of the bodies in the solar system. Having into account that an initial variation in an orbital element propagates in time having influence in the rest of the elements, it is very important a veritable determination of the inclination between frames. We computed the values of ɛ[z] employing two different methods. The usual one and another method considering bias on declination (both of the including deformations). As previously stated, two different results were obtained: the first procedure gives the value obtained by Mignard and Froeschlé which was officially adopted, but the other differs in a significant way. In order to determine which of these values is the veritable one we have arranged another independent computation using methods depending only of the data employed. It is important to remark that these methods do not depend on the previously mentioned models: the information obtained is intrinsically attached to the data. The two procedures were: a kernel regression and a spherical harmonics adjustment. We concluded that the models usually employed only eliminate the bias in the right ascension, but not in declination, so it is necessary the introduction of the corresponding parameter. The final and main conclusion was that a different value for ɛ[z] must be adopted in order to establish the change between systems properly.
