We derive expressions for the contribution from Compton scattering to the source term and the absorption coefficient for transverse waves, and discuss a number of simple solutions to the equation for the spectral intensity of transverse waves. We then discuss the effects of Compton scattering on plasma turbulent reactors, and find that under certain conditions the coupled equations for the radiation and particle spectra have power-law solutions, but that the particle spectrum decreases more rapidly with increasing energy than it does in the absence of Compton scattering. Numerical calculations of the spectral indices are given.
