Calculations are performed which show that the evolution of an interstellar gas cloud entering the space between galaxies is strongly dependent upon the pressure of the hot interstellar medium. If the difference between the cloud pressure and the ambient hot gas is large, then in a wide range of mass and temperature, the cloud will be compressed without limit by the external pressure; ultimately, it transforms into a star. For a moderate pressure difference, the values of the parameters for which the clouds retain their individuality are found as functions of the heating source power.
