Solar Protons: Solar Active Regions, Solar Protons: Solar Coronal Loops

The existence of a wide class of proton LDE-flares is associated with their belonging to complexes of activity (CA). A distinctive feature of these flares is the long decay time of X-ray emission which can be brought about by excitation of an extensive system of CA coronal loops. This hypothesis receives some support by results of an intercomparison of variations in time sequences of the power of CA cores and of the number of LDE-events on the descending branch of cycle No. 21.
