Solar Coronal Holes: Solar Active Regions, Statistics: Solar Activity
Scientific paper
Complexes of activity (CA), after their active phase, transform into extensive unipolar magnetic regions (UMR), which, in principle, create the necessary conditions for the production of coronal holes (CH). The intercomparison of CA and CH synoptic maps for the declining branch of cycle No. 21 shows that there does, indeed, exist a number of signature indicating a relationship between these features. It is concluded that there appears to be a causal association of CH with CA.
