The paper describes methodology, instrumentation, and data processing used in complex experiments on the investigation of the dynamics of ionospheric wave disturbances in the far eastern region of the USSR. Attention is given to results obtained during the partial solar eclipse of March 18, 1988, using 'passive' multifrequency oblique sounding of the ionosphere and satellite-borne sounding.
