The variability of radio emission at wavelengths of 1.9 and 2.8 cm from the nucleus of NGC 1275 is compared with that of forbidden O II and S II line emission and of linear-polarization parameters in the U, B, and V bands. The results show that the region of maximum radio brightness practically coincides with the forbidden O II zone and that the total extent of these regions is approximately 3 to 5 trillion km. It is noted that the density of relativistic and thermal electrons in this area has increased at least from the beginning of the 1960s to the present time. Evidence is cited for a relation between temporal variations in optical linear-polarization parameters and changes in physical conditions in the depolarizing medium located in the region of the radio nucleus and the forbidden O II zone.
