A compilation of the major crater-scaling laws is presented. All the laws are applicable to planetological problems and are given in terms of CGS units. It is shown that most of the laws are merely variants of the canonical proportionality between crater diameter and impact energy developed by Nordyke (1965). Some discrepancies between estimates of crater parameters obtained from the various scaling laws are discussed.
