In a project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, comparing the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI 1988) with results of ionospheric observations made in China, we have considered the following parameters: foF2, M(3000)F2, foF1, hmE, TEC (Total Electron Content), shape of bottomside profile. Comprehensive results have been obtained with the data of eight stations (Table 1). foF2 and m(3000)F2 have also been compared with values obtained from a regional map that was established by the AOR-method (Asia Oceania Region F2 Layer Prediction Method) which is nowadays widely used in China.
