A comparison was made between the differential distributions of impact craters of Venus in the Venera 15/16 radar survey area and craters on North American and European terrestrial cratons. In the diameter range of 32-128 km, the numbers of Venusian and terrestrial craters per unit area are the same within the spread limits. The rate of terrestrial crater formation, when used to estimate the crater retention age of Venusian craters, seems to be exaggerated if the age of the crater is less than 120 Myr. Estimates made with craters that are closer to 360 Myr old are more reliable.
