Sun: Magnetic Field – Sun: Fabry-Perot Etalons, Narrow Band Imaging

In this note, we compare the LiNbO3 and Piezo-Electrically(PE) servo controlled air gap Fabry-Perot etalons forobserving the Sun. An identical test setup was used toevaluate the instrumental parameters of the two etalons. It isfound that for the etalons with similar finesse the advantageof using PE Etalons is tunability over entire Free SpectralRange. On the other hand, the LiNbO3 etalons have advantageof wider acceptance angle.
